An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
