Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with former coach Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his first title since the Rome competition and first on a hard court since that period of 2023.

The win also signifies he has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's counter-punching strategy and regular outbursts on court had prompted some to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an better service.

The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

Both players traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour title, took control to push for a decider.

Moutet saved 4 early break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, he secured the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
