Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report preliminary tests indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not aware of any harm in connection with the event," they stated.

City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for details.

An important political figure said the incident made him speechless and required to be solved rapidly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
